This Privacy Policy describes Our policies and procedures on the collection, use, and disclosure of Your information when You use the Service and tells You about Your privacy rights and how applicable law protects You.

Interpretation

Account:
means a unique account created for You to access our Service or parts of our Service.
Application:
means the Criomate Chrome browser extension downloaded by You on any supported device.
Company:
(referred to as either "the Company", "We", "Us" or "Our" in this Policy) refers to Criomate.
Device:
means any device that can access the Service such as a desktop computer or laptop.
Extension:
means the Criomate Chrome browser extension available from the Chrome Web Store.
Personal Data:
is any information that relates to an identified or identifiable individual.
Service:
refers to the Application and the associated web application accessible at app.criomate.com.
Service Provider:
means any natural or legal person who processes data on behalf of the Company. It refers to third-party companies or individuals engaged by the Company to facilitate the Service, provide the Service on behalf of the Company, or assist the Company in operating and improving the Service.
Usage Data:
refers to data collected automatically, either generated by use of the Service or from the Service infrastructure itself.
You:
means the individual accessing or using the Service, or the company or other legal entity on behalf of which such individual is accessing or using the Service, as applicable.

Collecting and Using Your Personal Data

Types of Data Collected

Account Information

To set up a Criomate account, You need to supply basic registration information including Your email address. This can be obtained through single sign-on services such as Google. When You create an account or log in using Your Google credentials, We access Your email address as permitted by Your profile settings, solely for the purpose of authenticating You.

LinkedIn Profile Data You Choose to Save

Criomate operates on LinkedIn pages You actively visit. When You use the Extension to save a LinkedIn profile, We collect only the information displayed on the profile page You are currently viewing at the time of saving. This may include:

  • Name of the LinkedIn member whose profile is being viewed
  • Job title, company, and location as displayed on their public profile
  • Profile headline, summary, and other publicly visible profile sections
  • Profile URL

Criomate does not access, scrape, or store any LinkedIn data without a deliberate save action by You. Data is only captured from the specific profile page You are actively viewing at the moment You trigger a save.

LinkedIn Posts You Save

When You save a LinkedIn post using the Extension, We collect:

  • Post content as displayed on LinkedIn at the time of saving
  • Post author name and associated metadata visible on the post
  • The URL of the post
  • The date and time You saved the post

Usage Data

Usage Data is collected automatically when using the Service. It may include information such as Your browser type, browser version, Extension version number, timestamps of sync and save actions, and error diagnostic data. We do not collect Your IP address, browsing history outside of LinkedIn, or any data from websites other than LinkedIn.

Use of Your Personal Data

The Company may use Personal Data for the following purposes:

  • To provide and maintain our Service, including to monitor the usage of the Service and ensure it functions correctly.
  • To manage Your Account: to manage Your registration as a user of the Service. The Personal Data You provide can give You access to different functionalities available to registered users.
  • To sync Your data: to synchronise content saved locally in Your browser with Your Criomate cloud account so Your collections are consistent across sessions.
  • To contact You: to contact You by email regarding updates, security notices, or informative communications related to the Service.
  • To manage Your requests: to attend to and manage any requests You submit to Us.
  • For diagnostic purposes: to identify, investigate, and resolve technical errors and improve the stability and quality of the Service.

We do not use Your Personal Data for advertising, behavioural profiling, or any purpose beyond operating and improving the Criomate Service.

We may share Your personal information in the following situations:

  • With Service Providers: We may share Your Personal Data with Service Providers to support the operation and infrastructure of the Service. Our primary Service Provider for data storage is Supabase, which processes data solely on Our behalf and is bound by data protection obligations.
  • For business transfers: If the Company is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, Your Personal Data may be transferred. We will provide notice before Your Personal Data is transferred and becomes subject to a different Privacy Policy.
  • With Your consent: We may disclose Your personal information for any other purpose with Your explicit consent.

Retention of Your Personal Data

The Company will retain Your Personal Data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will retain and use Your Personal Data to the extent necessary to comply with Our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce Our agreements and policies.

Usage Data is generally retained for a shorter period of time, except when it is used to strengthen the security or improve the functionality of the Service, or where We are legally obligated to retain it for longer periods.

If You delete Your account, We will delete Your associated Personal Data from Our systems within 30 days, except where retention is required by applicable law.


Transfer of Your Personal Data

Your information, including Personal Data, is processed at the Company's operating offices and in any other places where the parties involved in processing are located. This means that Your information may be transferred to and maintained on computers located outside of Your state, province, country, or other governmental jurisdiction where data protection laws may differ from those in Your jurisdiction.

Your consent to this Privacy Policy, followed by Your submission of such information, represents Your agreement to that transfer. The Company will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that Your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.


Delete Your Personal Data

You have the right to delete or request that We assist in deleting the Personal Data that We have collected about You.

You may update or delete Your information at any time by signing in to Your Account and visiting the account settings section. You may also contact Us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal information You have provided to Us.

Please note that We may need to retain certain information where We have a legal obligation or lawful basis to do so.


Disclosure of Your Personal Data

Business Transactions

If the Company is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, Your Personal Data may be transferred. We will provide notice before Your Personal Data is transferred and becomes subject to a different Privacy Policy.

Law Enforcement

Under certain circumstances, the Company may be required to disclose Your Personal Data if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g. a court or a government agency in India or another applicable jurisdiction).

LinkedIn's Terms of Service

Criomate operates on LinkedIn's platform by reading content displayed in Your browser. You are responsible for ensuring that Your use of Criomate complies with LinkedIn's User Agreement and applicable terms. Criomate does not use LinkedIn's official API and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by LinkedIn Corporation. You should only save profile data and posts for legitimate purposes and in accordance with LinkedIn's terms and applicable privacy laws.


Security of Your Personal Data

The security of Your Personal Data is important to Us. We use technical and organisational security measures to protect Your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), encryption at rest on Our Supabase database, and access controls to ensure only authorised personnel can access stored data. While We strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect Your Personal Data, We cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Data you save is also stored locally in Your browser's extension storage (chrome.storage.local), which is private to the Criomate extension and cannot be accessed by LinkedIn or any other website or extension. You can clear this data at any time through your browser or extension settings.

In the event of a data breach that affects Your Personal Data, We will notify You in accordance with applicable law.


Children's Privacy

Our Service is designed for professional use on LinkedIn. Since LinkedIn requires its own age verification and terms of service compliance, we rely on LinkedIn's eligibility requirements to govern user age. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone who does not meet LinkedIn's minimum age requirements. If You are a parent or guardian and You are aware that Your child has provided Us with Personal Data, please contact Us. If We become aware that We have collected Personal Data from anyone who does not meet LinkedIn's minimum age requirements without appropriate consent, We will take steps to remove that information from Our servers.


Links to Other Websites

Our Service may contain links to other websites that are not operated by Us. If You click on a third-party link, You will be directed to that third party's site. We strongly advise You to review the Privacy Policy of every site You visit.

We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.


Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update Our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify You of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. If We make any material changes, We will send You a summary of Our updated content via email.
